The Syd Tie Top & Dress is a versatile pattern that allows you to make either a loose, full-length Top or a flowy, tiered, mid-calf Dress. With either option, you can add a 3/4-length puffy sleeve or go sleeveless. Whatever direction you go, the pattern features its signature front-tie closure.
Difficulty: Beginner.
Fabric recommendations: For this pattern, our top recommendation would be a woven cotton or linen with a moderate or fluid drape between 3-7 oz per square yard. Stiffer fabrics with a voluminous drape can be used, but may result in a “poofier” garment. Knit fabrics with a lot of stretch are not recommended, as they can cause the binding construction to be quite tricky.
