The Ruby Vest is the ultimate layering piece and is completely reversible. Multiple customization options allow you to truly make the vest of your dreams. I love quilting my Ruby Vests and have included instructions to do so, but it is optional.
Difficulty: Beginner
Fabric recommendations: For this pattern, you can use anything from quilting cotton, to flannel, to sherpa, to pre-quilted fabric, and more. Our favorites are generally cottons or linens, between 3-7 oz per square yard. We strongly discourage making your Bias Binding from a fabrics on the heavier side of that range, as it can make the construction quite difficult. Knit fabrics with a lot of stretch are not recommended.
Notions:
- Matching thread
- Pre-made 1/2” double fold bias tape if you don’t plan to make your own (optional)
- 1/2” Buttons, 3-5 depending on your preference (optional)
