Misses' XS-3XL

This sophisticated outfit was made in 1915 at Louis Cerlian of New York, one of the many custom, dress shops of the day. It was probably a copy of trendy fashion from Paris.

The Jacket featured Princess seaming, shaped waistline, and a flared below-hip length peplum to give a figure-flattering silhouette. The high stand collar has an optional contrast over-collar; decorative insets adorn the cuffs. The Jacket's military styling was popular in women's day wear at the beginning of World War I.

The Jumper features plunging V-neck in front and back, pleats into the shoulder seams, and armscyes open to just above the waist. A series of tucks tapers the full calf-length skirt into a fitted waist. The back closes with a zipper and the front is trimmed with a purchased buckle.

This sewing pattern is quite large, with two garments in it, and lots of tailoring techniques.  A truly beautiful outfit.

The PDF pattern has instructions and separate files for Jumper and Jacket in copy shop (36” and A0), print at home (A4 and 8.5”x11”) and projector files.

Suggested fabrics: Suiting weight linen, gabardine, or silk; lightweight wool and blends; heavyweight cotton twill. Optional over collar of light- to medium-weight silk, cotton, or linen.
